Subject: The Corset Wardrobe and Blood Sucking Butterfly Blooms
Security: Public

This should be interesting.  I made some notes about two weeks ago on my Palm about a dream and I am just now getting a chance to reconstruct it here.

In my dream I was living in an eclectic gift shop that I was also running.  There were lots of wire shelves, with uneven thickness.  It seems I was selling mostly furniture...but the most unique piece was a huge wooden wardrobe shaped like a womans body.  It was dressed in a lavender silk dress with lots of lace and a narrow corset.  From the back though it was actually a dress, and the shoulders of a woman.

Her skin was very pale and doughy, the corsett cut into it.  You could open the laces and make more room inside for clothes.  Once the laces were open you could see a thick zipper running down the length of her bare back, and I knew you would unzip it and put clothes inside...but I didn't want to look when someone pulled the zipper down.

I sold a poster.  But when I tried to run the customers card through the machine it was denied because it was a school card.

Then I was in an ampitheatre and I was going to undergo a Jedi test.  (Told you I have been reading too many Star Wars novels).  I was sitting on a shelf with Yoda who was actually a giant stuffed panda bear and we were going to try to deflect all of these incoming balls.  Instead, the creepy man with a long thin black mustache held up a tray with tiny pots of orchids that bloomed into bloodsucking butterfly blooms that then morphed into having bodies like praying mantis.

I was wearing a navy blue hoodie, and I slipped a sample of the insect flower pollen into my pocket.

I think I've been reading too many Star Wars novels lately...

Last night I dreamt that Dawn called me to say that she wasn't going to make it to our class, so I didn't go either...but then she called me later to say that she was coming up on the Jovian Moon and it was so unearthly beautiful out there.  She had just been flying around from planet to planet and stopping just long enough to refuel.  It turned out she had gone to the class after all and now she had her own space ship, and I was going to be stuck here on earth because I didn't have one.

Very vivid scenes of space...wish I could have captured them.

I also dreamt about trying to help a woman who was being abused by her husband and his other wives...this I am sure stems partly from reading the book about Carolyn Jessup...but in this case they were making her sit at the smallest school desk and they were feeding her dog biscuits, but even then they were dumping them in the mud next to her dish.  I tried to give her some candy, little chocolate bells...but instead of having Butterfinger bits in them and saying Butterfinger on the foil wrapper...these said Sonic Red Hot, and had pieces of red hots in them.

I've had other dreams in the past about exploring large old houses, with hidden doors and secret rooms, and lots of shelves with old neglected things on them.  I'm sure that has some meaning.

This time around though, there was a small door covered in plush turquoise velvet in the very back of a closet that led to all sorts of other rooms.

I also had a dream that I was competing in a cooking show.  I was wearing a "Heidi" costume, and the zipper was broken so I had to be very careful not to turn my back on the camera.  It seemed like there was an Alpine theme to the set because it was decorated for Christmas with lots of carved wooden ornaments in the shapes of animals, each hung in pairs.

I was cooking outside though, at the top of the basement stairs from the house where I grew up...and in the background I could hear my parents talking.

There was an ancient blackened with grease grill pan, and I was trying to bake a chicken on it.

Then I pulled a cookie sheet out of the oven and the entire batch of "apple jack" cookies had run into one big mess of half baked batter.

My grand finale though was tiny chocolate strawberry creme brulee's baked in thimble sized ramekins.

Last night I dreamed that I was pushing push pins into a wall, and when I looked back over my shoulder the wall had all of these tiny wounds that were bleeding down the paint from each place I had stuck a pin,

Subject: The Blue Goose Inn
Security: Public

I've gotten a bit behind with this, so you'll be getting two dreams for the price of one today.

Over the weekend I had a dream about squirrels running up very tall poles and stealing money from what looked like ATM birdhouses.

I think, pretty much enough said about that one!

Last night I dreamed that on my way home I spotted a building set back from the road that I hadn't seen before.  This has happened in real life from time to time, especially in the winter when the bare trees allow you to see things that you might not have noticed otherwise.  It's an odd feeling, to see a house that you must have passed thousands of times in your lifetime and never known it was there.

Anyway, Mom and I went to check in and it turned out to be an Inn.  It was painted an eggshell blue color and had a birch bark shingled roof.  It was called the Blue Goose Inn and when we later talked to one of the employees we were told that it used to be called the White Goose Inn, but then they painted it blue and had to change the name.  After we checked in we were shown to a huge butterscotch colored velvet sofa that had an arm about a third of the way into it, so that it was divided into two sections...one small section and one large section...so you know which section I got!

Then we were walking around the outside of the Inn, and it was very rustic countryside with lots of brush and a small creek.  The sun was low in the sky and everything was warm and golden.  I was talking about how I was worried about the coming New Moon because I would turn into a spider, but I had a plan to build a giant web and put myself on the inside.  I wasn't sure if it would hold me though.

When I turned into a spider at the New Moon I would start turning everyone around me into "buglings".

A lot of the images in that dream are easy to reference, so I'll run through them just for fun.

1.  I had just spotted a house for sale that I had never noticed before, but it was on my way to work.
2.  The Inn looked a lot like the cottage that I have ordered for my fairy garden.
3.  One of the birds eating birdseed off my windowsill over the weekend sounded like a goose.
4.  When Dawn and I checked into the Shaws Inn, we were given a room with a sofa bed (needless to say, we didn't stay!)
5.  The brush and the low setting sun were similar to the branches covered in ice I photographed late in the day the other weekend.
6.  The "buglings" were a clear reference to the Yasmine Galenorn book I was reading over the weekend (Darkling)

Subject: The Cover Up in the Parking Garage
Security: Public

Last nights dream was an unusual one, in that I was not in it.  Instead it was a "book", or at least a "story", that I was reading.  Sometimes when I have these dreams I can even see lines of words on paper as the scenes are being acted out.  These dreams always get complicated because they often start or end up as something that is being written...about something that is being written.  The grand circular argument.  The book is about writing a book about writing a book.

This one started with the characters who was "starring" in the dream book.  He was in an open parking garage, in a mini-van, running over a corpse of a young man with dark hair who was covered in ice like a blanket up to his chin.  The driver was doing a favor for a young red haired girl named Rose.  She was the author of the book in this dream book, and she had been doing some research for her murder mystery when she had accidentally really killed the guy who was helping her.  The older guy (the one driving the van) was helping her cover up her crime.  He thought it would be simple to make it look like a hit and run even though the torso was missing, since the guy was in a parking space in this garage....but then Rose tells him she has been here every night for the last few weeks setting this up and the older guy realizes that you can clearly see this space from the prison next door.  He knows someone might have seen what really happened.

He tells Rose that he doesn't know what the answer to her problem is yet, but he will know after his therapy session.

Then he turns and starts walking down the spiraling garage and passing groups of people huddling under sleeping bags and such trying to keep warm.  The people look like paintings by Frank Morrison and the line from the dream book that he is thinking is "blue pants and pink pants" and he is referring to all the children, boys and girls, who are stuck here with their parents.

At the bottom of the parking garage, he enters a small cottage and the line from the book is about a kind of tea that he finds steaming in a cup.

I never see the therapist, but his session this time involves painting tiny gold leaf lines on a design drawn up on a tea cup.  It's practice for doing the same design on a vase, and the fine lines are going to be very difficult.  His paint is always too thin and it keeps running instead of going on smooth and straight.

In the next segment, a woman is forced to leave her baby with her husband.  I get the sense that these two segments are connected in that she might be Rose's mother and running with her to protect her...but her husband threatens to turn them in if she doesn't leave the baby.  Then he is looking at a bill for some very expensive baby things and there is an overdraft of forty-nine cents because she has cut off his access to the credit card.  Now he is going to have to get a job, so he agrees to meet with this guy he hates and set up "dates" for him.

Subject: Graffiti Prom
Security: Public

I was hanging out with some friends, one who appeared to actually also be me...and trying to plan our Senior Prom.  The other me painted a huge sign (with perfect script I might add) that said something about family...but it was all in red and greens, and I argued that it was too Christmas-y.  A huge argument ensued, I kept pointing out that if I were wearing a hot pink dress I would be really pissed about having to stand in front of that for my photo's.

Then I drug them all out into a really elaborate walled garden and wandered around trying to remember where I had seen a wall that was covered with graffiti because I thought that would be really cool and it wouldn't clash with anyones dress.

Around the corner though I found myself in my old bedroom and was mad because Dawn had sat my BiOrb on the floor and put this huge boom-box alarm clock on my bed.  I couldn't tell if it was the pump from the BiOrb or the alarm clock that was making this static sound but it was driving me nuts.

Then I was looking in my parents closet for something to wear today...but the pink top I was planning to wear was suddenly short sleeved and had this elaborate cut out pattern all over the back of it.  I was getting mad because it kept slipping off the hanger.

Note:  For some reason I frequently dream about being up and trying to get dressed for work, this usually occurs after my alarm has gone off and I should actually BE up and getting dressed but am not!  It's like my subconscious is trying to get on with the day, while my body is steadfastly refusing to be roused.  Interesting, but odd.

Subject: I Fill Out MY Plastic Bottle Suit, How About You?
Security: Public

I had trouble remembering the order of this dream so just some random images.

I dreamt that the three boys had different fort-like bedrooms.  One of them was a series of wide wooden planks that could be drawn up like a drawbridge.  One of them was suspended from the ceiling with ropes.  It was like having an indoors tree house.

I dreamt that my class had a project...to do a makeover on an on shed behind the classroom.  We were giving a tour of it, around a corner I saw a low black iron table that looked like a basket and had a shoe lamp with a red shade on it.  The bathroom had four stalls, two on each side facing each other and instead of doors there were purple velvet curtains that were pulled back with gold braided cords.   Above the toilets there were black wooden details affixed to the wall with a different shade of purple velvet behind them.  The room was lit by a crystal chandelier.

In the classroom I was sitting towards the back, the second to last row...and I saw a lot of people I used to go to school with.  Some of the names I recognized, some of them I didn't.  There wasa girl I thought was supposed to be in my sisters class named Latoya there.  It felt like home.

Some little kids came in from their classroom to pass out these plastic bottle suits for a recycling program.  It looked like a clown suit you could slip over your head and was held up with straps or suspenders, but instead of being clown pants, this looked like a giant plastic bottle had been cut down to just the bottom third.  We were supposed to put them on and go around and collect bottles and cans.  The little boy who gave me one (I was trying to hide behind someone else so I would get picked) said "I think you will fill this out nicely."

In another classroom Joni was showing me some paint samples, but instead of being ordinary paint, when you brushed this on the walls it looked like wallpaper.  The color she had picked out was a small pink and blue flower print and I told her I didn't think the guys would like it.  She sent some of the class out into the hallway to vote on a voting machine to see what everyone else thought.

It's on the tip of my tongue...I'm going to have to go through the free association.  Not Calendar, but something with a C.  Crap, what was it?  Okay...it wasn't crap, even though that does start with a C.  Um.  Something, it was something that I recognized from something I saw, over the weekend I think.  Why, oh why don't I write these down?  The other word that is coming to mind is Caliber, but that isn't it either.  Yikes!  I may have lost this one all together and it's not even 8:00 yet!?  It was something small and boxy like a page-a-day calendar or a board game.  No, not a creche.

Huh.

I don't even have a glimmer.

I'll update later if anything comes to me.

When I finally fell asleep last night...I was down for the count, so I don't remember much.

In one dream I was flipping through a catalog and the theme was "painting on the beach".  But of course, being a dream and all, it was much more abstract that it sounds.  One model would be painting a hand on a small square canvas...which would actually BE the hand of the model next to her.

Each page I turned to was even more bizarre.

And I dreamt about food again, in this dream I was looking at dim sum in a grocery store.  It was in a peel pack and looked like tiny rice noodle bird nests with even tinier meatballs nestled in them, but also attached to the "nest" with those plastic swords they sometimes use in seafood restaurants.

Subject: The Illusionist and His Rubber Neck Lady
Security: Public

I did it again, woke up early and didn't write it down.  sigh.

But last night's dream was very stylistic.  I spent a good deal of the night hanging out with a conglomeration of the first guy I ever kissed and a guy I used to hang out with and never kissed.  They do have similar builds and coloring, so it sort of fluctuated between the two of them.  The details are fuzzy though...seems like there was a basketball involved.  It was autographed I think, but I only have these vague impressions of us spending time in a small apartment or an attic maybe.

Then at one point we went to see a show.  The stage was dim and fogged and there were these silhouettes of giant candle shapes.  The Illusionist went behind each one and "lit" it...when the flame shot up it illuminated the shape and it turned out to be contortionists in elaborate poses.  He went across the stage and lit them all one at a time.  It was very dramatic and intriguing.  Even when you got it that the next "candle" would really be people, you couldn't make out the body parts until the candle was lit.

The next "act" was a very tall woman with dark red hair, who I can't quite place...but I've seen her somewhere.  I think of television, but she could just as easily have been a cashier I've seen somewhere lately.  I remember the Illusionist saying something about "hanging in there with her" and then she reached up and stretched out her neck like it was a long piece of taffy and then twisted it.  It was horrifying and fascinating at the same time.  Mostly horrifying.

Update:  Ah, just remembered where I saw the "Rubber Neck" lady...it was Kathryn Hahn who I just watched in "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" last Sunday.

Now that's one less thing bugging me.

Over the weekend I dreamed something I didn't get to write down and now it's just one stark image.

I was outside the library and I needed to get home, so I decided to take the new underground train.  In order to get down to it, I had to climb up into the book drop slot and fit myself flat onto the chute.  There was a plastic cover that fit down over me, and then it was one long slide down to the train station.

The train was a bright red, and the station was nothing more than piles of dirt because the stations were still being built.

I was worried that the station at my stop might not be open yet, but it beat walking home.

The only key word I can remember from last night's dream was "old man"....oh!  It's starting to come back to me a little.  There WAS an old man, and I think he was blind and I was helping him move into a better building.  It looked exactly like the old building except there were different chairs sitting out front and these chairs had big red jewels on them.  Huh.

I woke up early, and went to get some juice and before I fell back asleep I tried to fix in my mind what I had been dreaming about...but that's all that is coming back.

I really have to start making myself write this stuff down!  Oh well.

I dreamed that they were turning the farm across the road into a huge skating rink/parking lot and movie theatre.  I was telling someone that this would give the kids who lived out in the country something to do closer than going into town.

Then I was walking through town trick-or-treating in the pumpkin wig I saw on-line the other day.

In the center of town I was auditioning for an ice-skating show that seemed to be some kind of adaptation of "The Nutcracker".  I was being given the part of the White Unicorn, complete with a glittery white sequin costume...but I was disappointed because it didn't come with a headband horn which seemed important because how else would they know I was a unicorn?  Besides I really wanted the part of Nina.

Then I met up with Mom and we were in a cafeteria and she was going to buy a giant three layer cream puff in a plastic container to take to a carry-in, but I convinced her not to because I could make one cheaper.

The last image I dreamed about was that I was in an apartment with an author whose blog I read frequently.  I recognized her by her vibrant hair color.  She was sitting at a rather messy desk part of the time, and then she was gone...so I started going through drawers of goth clothing.  (I don't know what I was looking for, but I have a feeling it was representative of her "key to success".  Just a feeling.)

When she was there again, I gave her a chocolate ice cube (a type of vintage candy that I can't get enough of despite the fact that I can't really describe it)...she didn't seem that impressed by it and then showed me something better.  A jar of expanding pickles.

In this glass jar you could see all of these odd bumpy shapes floating in this briney liquid.  Then she tapped on the bottom of the jar and out popped a long dill pickle.  Somehow the pickles were compressed in the jar, and when you tapped one out it expanded to it's full size!

Yeah, no way to top that.

Having made a brief cameo in Sunday nights dream (in the form of Elvis)...the vice squad is back.

Last night I dreamed I was walking around a strip mall.  I remember stopping at a pizza joint with no windows or doors and what looked like a giant noodle maker with tubs of pizza dough sitting on it.  They were coated in flour and I remember thinking this must be good pizza because it would be so fresh.

Then I met Crockett in the new shop he and Tubbs had opened...it was called the Sunburst and the above the door was decorated with Skittles.  Inside it turned out to be some of kind maze like game where you moved a little robot that looked like a Dust Buster in front of you and tried to avoid all the hidden trapdoors.  I walked around it for awhile, it was mostly bare rooms with worn out carpets and I never really found any spots where you fell through.

Then we were all at dinner and I waited until Tubbs left the table and explained to Crockett that I didn't think we wanted our restaurant to be open in the same area.  Our place was called Lukes.  I could see Tubbs from across the room and I knew he knew we were talking about him.  I also told Crockett it would be best if we got married before Tubbs did.

(side note:  I have been watching the first few seasons of Miami Vice on DVD...but the one who really interests me is not Crockett...or Tubbs!  There is something about Castillo, and it isn't looks exactly it's just that intensity.  Typical of me.  There is this scene in season two where he turns around in a chair and answers the phone....yeah, that's IT....but it's sooooo hot.)

In another scene I am in a cafeteria and Mom and Aunt Sondra are sitting with Uncle Mike and they are laughing because I've just gotten the exact same lunch he got.  Honey Nut Cheerios and french fries.

I ended the night dreaming about Dan...and this is a topic I would rather shy away from because of all the odd dreams I have these need no interpetation.  No matter what else happens in them, the feeling is the same I'm begging to be with him or anxious to be with him...but even when I am with him he always has me at arms length.  Often I am living in a house, seeing photo's or whatever of him and a family who all live there, but he never comes home.

Needless to say these are not sweet dreams and they are bone chillingly unsettling...easy to remember but end up tainting the next day or week!

In this one I was at home talking to him on the phone about going to the park.  Of course he didn't want to go, but the dream never lets me off the hook with that and he picks me up...but all along I know he doesn't want to be there.  Then we are at a store looking at a set of pajamas which he thinks I won't buy, so of course I put them on over my clothes to prove otherwise and head for the sales clerk.

This time I woke up trying to struggle out of them to pay for them.

My dreams over the weekend were a mix of images that seemed to keep coming back to being in school.

I didn't write them down, so this will just be a mish-mash.

On Saturday, I dreamed that I was in a school...I think I was there for some kind of gathering that I didn't really want to be at.  I was trying to find a way to slip out, and I thought I knew a way to get to a door.  I was trying to sneak out, but I was carrying a giant bunch of helium balloons in some pastel colors.  No matter which hallway or doorway I went through though there was someone who would see me leaving.  Most of the doors were only barely open and I couldn't seem to find the door I wanted.  At one point I spotted a girl named Michelle that I used to go to school with.  I finally came out on a floor in the old elementary building and I noticed two teachers desks that were almost bizarrely color coordinated.  One was in a bright pink and green paisley print, with matching folders and files.  The other was a dingy pink shade with a mustard color and it was a more abstract pattern.  I also saw a "guys" desk with no theme and thought he must get more work done.

An older couple wandered around past me and found an elevator.

I also dreamed I saw three cars by a pond and in each car I saw two animals curled up together that "shouldn't" be.  I can only remember two of the pairings.  One was a german shepherd with bright blue eyes curled up with a very hairy pig...the other one Dawn spotted first and it was a frog eating a snake...but at first we thought it was just eating something off the snake and was actually helping it...but then it started hopping towards me and it was definitely eating the snake.  I kept trying to block it with a big square shiny teal colored handbag.  I think I was trapping it under a hay wagon.

Last night I dreamed that I was playing a video game of Aladdin...I was looking at the directions on a big piece of white cardboard card.  On the front it said something about "you won't need Elvis to show you the way"...and inside it said that you needed to click on the school house and then click on the sofa.

Never did get around to posting this entry...so I will see how much I can recover from the notes I jotted down.

I came home to find a door left open and I was trying to figure out how to lock it when Mom came around the path overloaded and balancing a cookie sheet on top.  She was coming back from a pot luck and had some snack mix left.  Uncooked rice noodles, frito's, and peanut m&m's...but only the green ones!  It was very crunchy!

She was excited about someone she wanted to fix me up with.

Then Dawn and I were walking along the beach looking in this long wide trench for shells.  We were seeing some, but as we went along it turned into bigger finds and there were people excavating them.  One of the items I saw in the trench was  set of silverware with a chicken design on it.

Finally we came to an old wagon covered on one side with stacks of cloth about the size of blankets.  Two women were peeling the top layer off and Dawn snatched the next layer which was a deep green velvet.  She said, "Just in time for me!".

Deeper down, I found a piece of black raw silk but was disappointed because the other side of the fabric was a really awful shiny plaid.

It's been awhile.  Mostly this is because with all the craziness of the holiday's I've been up later, working later, and sleeping deeper!

I have noticed something though, I often wake up with a song line running through my head.  I vaguely remember reading something that makes this seem like a common occurance?  Not sure.  I decided to post about this though because the latest has been rather amusing, the me at least.

Not only do I often find a song line running through my head, but just as often...it isn't quite accurate!

The last week or so I've woke up singing a line from a popular Christmas song that starts:  "Someday at Christmas there'll be no war..."

Except what's ACTUALLY been running though my head is:  "Someday at Christmas there'll Pinot Noir"

That kind of thing.

I did dream last night that someone gave me a giant box of Esther Price chocolate, but it was filled with a piece I've never heard of; Diamonds.  No such luck on them being the real thing either.

Anyway the last few weeks, I've only gotten tiny glimpses of dreams...not like what I was getting before, but I will keep posting what I can!

This post is about my dream from Friday night...last night was just a vague impression of a pollster in full KISS makeup asking me (I'm in a black and white polka dot outfit) about something and I replied that I didn't like people now and I didn't see that changing in the future so I didn't see how my opinion would be at all relevant.

The dream began with a strange stage adaptation of an ice-skating movie.  Kara was up in front of the stage conducting the musicians and doing this odd leg turn where she twisted her right leg at the knee out to the side.  Then Shannon jumped up and broke into an impassioned song and is hustled away before she ruins the performance.

In the audience, several rows behind me there is a huge guy with a picket type sign announcing he is a fan of the movie, which he compares to soccer.  He suggests that we all throw our tickets at the piano player on the stage like they did in the movie.

After the performance I am standing around talking to Amber, we both have our laptops open.

A table away from where we are we see a beautiful blonde (Jude Lawish looking) Frenchman named Steppan.  This name came to me spelling and all.  He says he is going to the fancy restaurant Amber and I had been talking about for the second time in his thick accent.  He starts comparing notes with Amber about the cuisine.  They talk about a Paella and some kind of Mexican grain and pretzel mixture she keeps calling Mufti.

During a break in their conversation I ask him if he would like to have dinner again tonight and he says yes while making direct and extended eye contact.

In the next scene I am in a greenhouse showing him Dad's rose through the window which is vine covered.  I'm letting him assume they are mine.  The greenhouse had a small door which led into the rose room.  The rose room is basically the front yard with a glass enclosure.  One long bed is filled with a myriad colored roses, while the perpendicular bed which had already bloomed and is now filled with tall topiaries of tiny white daisies.

In the next scene I am going to pick Steppan up for dinner.  At the front door I meet his mother and brother.  I am bringing back his chair which is a black lawn chair.  She asks the brother if this how a chair should be returned because it has holes in it.  But the holes she is pointing to are only the spots between the nylon "slats"!?

Then she turns to finish pressing his camo's as he is headed off to Afghanistan.  I just spot him coming around the corner into the room when I wake up.

Note:  Oddly enough I met a Steven Saturday morning and was struck by the coincidence.  Not that it meant anything to me...but it was the kind of thing that my character would have puzzled over too long and read too much into so it is worth noting!
